Re-issue of International Driving Permit (IDP)

Indian nationals residing in Ireland may apply for re-issue of their International Driving Permit (IDP) with the Embassy of India in Dublin.
Embassy will- (a) Verify the documents as listed below (No (3) a to g).
(b) Issue a receipt to the applicant.
Applicant will- (a) Apply for a fresh issue of IDP through the portal www.parivahan.gov.in and will upload the requisite documents, including the receipt issued by the Embassy of India, Dublin
(b) Pay the requisite fee online on the webportal.
On receipt of application through the portal, the licensing authority in India, on verification of the documents, shall issue the IDP and courier it directly to the address given by the applicant.
PROCESS FOR RE-ISSUE OF INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT

For Applications submitted in person at the counter of Embassy:
Fee can now be accepted via any major Debit Card( Visa, Master Card, Maestro, JCB, Union Pay etc.) at POS Terminal at the Embassy counter.
For Applications submitted through post:
- Fee can now be paid via bank transfer to the Embassy's Account as per the details mentioned below. Applicants are requested to check the website and confirm the exact fees to be paid before making the payment. In case of any doubt, applicants may first contact Consular Section to confirm the exact amount of fees before paying the fees through bank transfer. Fee including the consular fee and ICWF component is to be transferred in a single transaction.
- Applicant is requested to also submit the proof of fee payment along with the application. The application will be processed only after receipt of the fee in the Embassy’s bank account. While making Bank Transfer, the applicant will mention his/her name, email/mobile no and Passport No., Name of Consular Service requested and File No. of Application form, if available (if remarks column in their bank allow).

(3) Submission of Application and Documents to Embassy
Submit the following documents to Embassy of India, 69 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin-4, Ireland:
(a) Completed application form at No (1)
(b) Fee as explained above.
(c) Original Indian Passport along with one self-attested photocopy of front and last page of the passport
(d) Original IRP/ GNIB card with one self-attested photocopy
(e) One recent passport size photograph with white background
(f) Original expired International Driving Permit with one self-attested photocopy
(g) Original valid Indian driving licence with one self-attested photocopy
Submit the following documents at Embassy in person or send by post to: Embassy of India, 69 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin-4, Ireland.
Document submission time: Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 12.00 noon. (Except holidays)*
Processing Time: 3 working days from the date of submission in Embassy. If the application is submitted via post, then 8-10 additional working days will be there for processing of the application.
(4). Collection Procedure:
Receipt required for applying for re-issuance of IDP may be collected from the Embassy, after 3 working days. If the application is submitted via post, then 8-10 additional working days will be there for processing of the application.
To receive the receipt by Post, applicants are required to send a self-addressed envelope with requisite stamps along with the application.
